[edit] S.O.S.S. - Save Our Space Station
The Space Station is under duress. It needs our help other wise it might go under and be destined to float aimlessly forever in space.
[edit] The Cunning Plan - Rocketboom Buys a Space Shuttle
With a slow economy and a lack of NASA funding, space shuttles are CHEAP!!!! For only $28,800,000 Rocketboom plans to buy a pre-owned space shuttle, sail that puppy to the space station and prevent anyone from leaving. It's a brilliant tactic called reverse pirating. Instead of stealing stuff and leaving if for ruin like regular pirates, Rocketboom's ruggedly handsome space crew will make sure everyone stays in the space station and keeps things running smooth. Once we acquire the funding to purchase the space shuttle, you'll never have to worry about the space station again.
[edit] How You Can Help
$28,800,000 isn't always easy to come by. We need your help to purchase the space shuttle. We accept Mastercard, Paypal, American Express, Gold Dubloons, Visa, Diner's Club, melted down Sterling Silver cookware and Bicentennial Quarters. No refunds.
The opinions expressed here are my own and not of anyone at all! All rites reserved all wrongs reversed. All warranties void and all profits forfeit. Void were prohibited by law unless you don't follow the law. Some restrictions apply. This is the end of the beginning and the beginning of the middle. The beginning is over there and not here. The end has already begun. But so what, at least we can still have fun. Remember that all the things here are not ever there....they are here. And when you get to the end it is just the beginning. Remember: Don't take life too seriously, no one gets out alive!
[edit] Media Campaign
Rather than let the space station's orbit decay and its subsequent fiery death, NASA could be encouraged to do more in the area of high finance and promote the formation of a venture capital group and the initiation of a media campaign to promote efforts to seek out new uses for the space station. It could for example act as a foundation for a space hotel. A sales campaign could include such catch phrases as "space available" and "a room with a view." The facility could be used as advertising space and companies like Orbitz could be sought as backers and booking agents. Just imagine the revenue that could be generated by a Great Escape Contest.
Of course a useful promotional tool would be plenty of trinkets for visitors identifying them as members of a very exclusive club.
The space station could be billed as a prototype and stepping stone for a Lunar Transfer Facility in a transfer orbit to the Moon and, later on, a Mars Transfer Facility for access to Mars. There could also be connections to the Lagrange Points other locations throughout the Solar System.
